Internet Independence for All Ages: Learning Tech with the SLDA

The Southern Labrador Development Association (SLDA) is helping seniors build confidence and independence in today's digital world through its Senior's Independence Place program.

Each week, seniors gather at the E.M. Taylor Resource Centre in Forteau for hands-on technology sessions focused on practical digital skills. Participants have the opportunity to learn about smartphones, tablets, email, online safety, social media, and accessing online services in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The program is designed to help seniors feel more comfortable using technology in their everyday lives. Whether it's staying in touch with family and friends, accessing online services, or learning new digital skills, participants can learn at their own pace in a friendly setting.

The Seniors Independence Place program promotes lifelong learning, independence, and social connection while helping participants navigate an increasingly digital world.
