✈️Air Travel Challenges in Labrador Straits - CBC Labrador Morning Interview

Posted December 18, 2025
CBC's Labrador Morning has taken interest in this important issue. Earlier this week, we joined Andrea McGuire for an interview alongside a community member directly affected by the cancelled flight.

Labrador Straits residents call out air travel disruptions "Holiday travel is stressful enough, but some residents in the Labrador Straits say staffing shortages are making it worse. Roseann Linstead and Jessica O'Dell McKenzie share how repeated cancellations at the Blanc-Sablon airport are affecting families — and why they say reliable air service is essential."

We encourage residents to continue sharing how air travel challenges affect your family, your work, and daily life. Each story helps shine a light on the realities and challenges our region faces.

At SLDA, our commitment remains firm: working together for the social and economic well-being of the Labrador Straits. By raising awareness and amplifying community voices, we can press for the improvements our communities deserve. Our newest initiative, the Regional Network of Community and Economic Services Project, builds on lessons learned and strengthens collaboration to advance the Labrador Straits region.
