Position: Seniors & Community Support Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: E.M. Taylor Resource Centre, Forteau, NL

About the Position
Provide support to seniors and other community members navigating government programs and services, access vital resources, and participate in meaningful recreational, educational and community engagement activities. This position will also coordinate and support SLDA's volunteer Age-Friendly Community Committee.

*This position is supported with funding from International Grenfell Association (IGA) and part of SLDA's Regional Network of Community and Economic Services Program.

Key Responsibilities
•Provide individualized support to seniors and other community members with completing online forms, government applications, and navigating digital platforms—ensuring they can access essential services confidently and independently.
•Plan and deliver recreational programs, training sessions, and information workshops for seniors and other community members throughout the region.
•Design and deliver monthly age-friendly workshops that improve digital literacy and help seniors and other community members navigate online platforms, access wellness tools, and government resources.
•Collaborate with volunteer community groups in the region to support local initiatives.
•Lead SLDA's volunteer Age-Friendly Community Committee, guiding its efforts to promote inclusion, accessibility, and age-friendly communities.
•Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
•Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva and other digital tools.
•Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Comfortable facilitating workshops and public presentations
•Commitment to inclusive, age-friendly community development

Assets
•Experience working with seniors, caregivers, or vulnerable populations
•Knowledge of provincial and federal programs and services
•Familiarity with digital literacy training or adult education
•Understanding of community health, wellness, or social services
•Post-secondary education in recreation, wellness, social work, or a related field—or equivalent experience in community support and program delivery
•Experience coordinating volunteers or leading community committees
